Face Reality® Acne Treatment Program
Clear Skin Starts With a Personalized Plan
Acne is complex—and treating it requires more than an occasional facial or a collection of products.
The Glo & Glam Face Reality Acne Treatment Program combines professional acne treatments, personalized home care, progress monitoring, and guidance from an acne-trained skincare professional. Every program is customized to your skin type, acne type, sensitivity, and lifestyle.
Our goal is to help you achieve clearer, healthier-looking skin while giving you the knowledge and routine needed to maintain your progress.
What Is the Face Reality Acne Program?
Face Reality is a professional skincare system developed specifically for acne-prone skin. Its Clear Skin Method combines:
- Professional skin analysis
- Customized in-clinic treatments
- Personalized Face Reality home care
- Regular progress appointments
- Education about acne triggers
- Ongoing adjustments based on your skin’s response
Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, your Glo & Glam provider will build a routine around your individual skin and gradually adjust it as your skin changes.
What Is Included?
The Glo & Glam Face Reality Acne Treatment Program includes:
- Three customized acne facials
- Three customized acne peels
- Six total treatments
- Appointments approximately every two weeks
- Progress evaluations at each visit
- Personalized home-care recommendations
- Education about acne-safe skincare and lifestyle habits
- Ongoing adjustments to your routine
The program is generally completed over approximately 10–12 weeks.
Step One: Your Acne Consultation
Your clear-skin journey begins with a comprehensive consultation. During this appointment, we will evaluate:
- Your acne type and severity
- Skin type and sensitivity
- Current skincare routine
- Medications and health history
- Previous acne treatments
- Products that may be clogging or irritating your skin
- Lifestyle factors that may contribute to breakouts
We will then create a personalized treatment and home-care plan.
The acne consultation fee is $50. This amount will be credited toward your program when you enroll within 30 days of your consultation.
Customized Acne Facials
Your acne facials may include:
- Gentle cleansing
- Skin analysis
- Enzyme or controlled exfoliation
- Careful extractions when appropriate
- Hydrating and calming treatments
- Acne-safe finishing products
- Home-care review and adjustments
Each facial is modified based on your skin’s condition at the time of treatment. If your skin is irritated, dehydrated, or sensitized, the priority may be restoring the skin barrier before introducing stronger acne products.
Customized Acne Peels
Professional acne peels help exfoliate accumulated dead skin cells, improve clogged pores, and support a smoother, clearer-looking complexion.
The type and strength of the peel will be selected based on:
- Your acne type
- Skin sensitivity
- Current home-care routine
- Previous treatment response
- Overall skin-barrier health
Not every peel causes visible peeling. Mild dryness or flaking may occur, but the absence of visible peeling does not mean the treatment was ineffective.
Treatments may be modified or postponed when medically or clinically appropriate.
Your Personalized Face Reality Home-Care Routine
Your daily routine is one of the most important parts of the program. Professional treatments alone are usually not enough to create and maintain meaningful improvement.
Your provider may recommend a personalized combination of:
- Cleanser
- Toner
- Acne treatment products
- Hydrating serum
- Moisturizer
- Sunscreen
- Barrier-support products
Your routine will be introduced gradually and adjusted according to your skin’s response.
The recommended Face Reality home-care products are required for participation and are purchased separately from the treatment program. Using outside products without provider approval may interfere with your progress or contribute to clogged pores and irritation.
What Types of Acne Can We Address?
The program may be appropriate for:
- Blackheads and whiteheads
- Congested pores
- Inflamed breakouts
- Papules and pustules
- Hormonal-pattern breakouts
- Teen acne
- Adult acne
- Oily or combination acne-prone skin
- Dry, sensitive, or dehydrated acne-prone skin
- Breakouts on the face, chest, or back
- Post-acne discoloration
Severe, painful, cystic, or scarring acne may require evaluation and treatment by a dermatologist or other medical provider. We will recommend medical care when appropriate.
The Importance of Consistency
Acne does not usually improve overnight. Your progress will depend heavily on consistently following the treatment schedule and home-care instructions.
For the best opportunity to see improvement, clients should:
- Attend appointments approximately every two weeks
- Follow the recommended routine morning and evening
- Use only approved skincare and cosmetic products
- Avoid picking or squeezing breakouts
- Communicate any dryness, irritation, or reactions
- Follow guidance regarding acne-related lifestyle triggers
- Wear acne-safe sunscreen daily
Face Reality has reported visible improvements in acne severity within eight weeks when professional treatments are combined with personalized home care. However, every person’s skin responds differently, and results cannot be guaranteed.
Acne-Safe Lifestyle Guidance
Acne can be influenced by more than skincare. During your program, we may help you identify possible triggers involving:
- Hair and makeup products
- Laundry products and fabric softeners
- Pillowcases, towels, and makeup brushes
- Exercise and sweating
- Phone and accessory hygiene
- Certain dietary or supplement factors
- Stress and sleep habits
- Picking or touching the skin
You will receive practical recommendations—not unrealistic restrictions—to help support your progress.
What to Expect During the Program
Some clients experience temporary dryness, sensitivity, or an increase in visible breakouts as products and treatments are introduced. This does not happen to everyone.
Your provider will monitor your skin and adjust your routine when needed. Contact Glo & Glam if you experience significant irritation, swelling, blistering, or another unexpected reaction.
Aftercare
After a professional acne treatment or peel:
- Follow your provider’s instructions
- Avoid picking or exfoliating the skin
- Use only approved home-care products
- Apply broad-spectrum sunscreen
- Avoid excessive sun exposure
- Avoid retinoids, scrubs, or strong active ingredients until cleared
- Avoid strenuous exercise, saunas, and excessive heat as directed
- Allow any dryness or flaking to resolve naturally
Teen Acne Treatment and Support
Teen acne is extremely common, but that does not mean it should be ignored or dismissed as “just a phase.” Hormonal changes during puberty can increase oil production and contribute to clogged pores, blackheads, whiteheads, and inflamed breakouts.
Acne is not caused by having dirty skin, and aggressive scrubbing often makes irritation worse. Our teen acne program focuses on gentle, consistent care—not shame, blame, or complicated routines.
A Personalized Plan for Teen Skin
Every teenager’s skin is different. Some struggle with occasional clogged pores, while others experience frequent inflammation, painful breakouts, or lingering dark marks.
The program may include:
- A comprehensive acne and skin assessment
- Three customized acne facials
- Three customized acne peels
- Appointments approximately every two weeks
- A simple, age-appropriate home-care routine
- Gentle extractions when appropriate
- Guidance for sports, sweating, makeup, and hair products
- Progress monitoring and routine adjustments
- Education to help prevent picking and irritation
Our goal is to create a routine that is effective but realistic enough to follow during school, sports, travel, and other activities.
Support for Student-Athletes
Sports equipment, helmets, chin straps, tight clothing, sweat, and friction may contribute to breakouts on the face and body. We can help teens develop acne-safe habits such as:
- Cleansing gently after practices and games
- Keeping helmets, pads, and chin straps clean
- Changing out of sweaty clothing promptly
- Avoiding heavy or pore-clogging hair and body products
- Using non-comedogenic sunscreen
- Treating breakouts on the chest or back when appropriate
The Parent’s Role
Parents or legal guardians must provide consent for clients younger than 18. We also encourage the teen to participate in the consultation, ask questions, and take ownership of the routine.
Parents can support progress by helping with appointments and product access without making the teen feel criticized or embarrassed. Encouragement is usually more effective than repeated daily reminders.
Acne Can Affect Confidence
Even mild acne can affect a teenager’s confidence, social life, and willingness to participate in school activities. Our providers approach teen acne with patience, privacy, and respect. We want every teen to feel heard and supported—not judged because of their skin.
If acne is contributing to persistent sadness, anxiety, social withdrawal, bullying, or significant changes in behavior, parents should also speak with the teen’s pediatrician or another qualified healthcare professional.
When Medical Acne Care May Be Needed
Professional skincare can help manage many forms of mild to moderate acne. However, we may recommend evaluation by a pediatrician or dermatologist when a teenager has:
- Deep, painful cysts or nodules
- Rapidly worsening acne
- Significant inflammation
- Active or developing acne scars
- Acne that is not responding to the program
- A suspected medical or hormonal condition
- A need for prescription medication
Early treatment may help prevent acne from worsening and reduce the risk of permanent scarring. Glo & Glam’s program does not replace medical or dermatologic care when prescription treatment is needed.
Frequently Asked Questions
How quickly will my acne improve?
Some clients notice improvement within several weeks, while others require more time. Acne type, severity, hormones, medications, lifestyle factors, and adherence to the program can all affect progress.
Are home-care products included?
No. Your customized Face Reality products are purchased separately. Because each client receives a different routine, product costs will vary.
Do I have to use Face Reality products?
Yes. A consistent, approved home-care routine is required because it is an essential part of the program. Mixing unapproved products into your routine may cause irritation, clogged pores, or slower progress.
Will my skin peel after an acne peel?
You may experience dryness or mild flaking, but visible peeling is not required for the treatment to be effective. Your response will depend on the peel selected and your skin’s sensitivity.
Can teenagers participate?
Yes. The program may be appropriate for teenagers with parental or legal-guardian consent. Support from a parent or guardian can be especially helpful with maintaining a consistent home routine.
Can I participate while pregnant or breastfeeding?
Certain acne ingredients and treatments may not be appropriate during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Tell your provider before beginning the program so your plan can be modified or postponed when necessary.
Does the program treat acne scars?
The first priority is controlling active acne. Once breakouts are better managed, we may recommend treatments for lingering discoloration or acne scars, such as chemical peels, microneedling, VirtueRF, or laser treatments.
Is acne curable?
Acne is a condition that can often be successfully managed, but it is not considered permanently curable. Continued home care and occasional maintenance treatments may be recommended after completing the initial program.
